Hi All, !

Can anyone tell me, how much this type rating is likely to cost. Has anyone out there done it?

I believe CAE are quoting something like €24k plus vat. Factor in your accom and loss of earnings and the final figure comes in at something like €34k. ooch!!

From all the RYR TRTO's they were the only ones to react to my e-mail (all be it an automatic response) straight away. The others were a problem to get info from, any info (detailed please !! ) on the others to be posted below would help everybody!!

General information B737-800 Type Qualification course CAE/Ryanair

Thank you for considering CAE for your 737-800 Type training. This sheet is to inform you about the CAE Ryanair TQ and its procedures. Due to the high volume of requests we are unable to respond to everybody in person and have automated the process.

Screening
Screening will take place in our training center in Maastricht in the south of the Netherlands and / or Hoofddorp near Amsterdam. The screening procedure may take up to 3 days and includes an interview with a Ryanair HR representative, a grading on a simulator and aptitude testing.

TQ course
The Type Qualification course will take approximately 8 weeks (excluding line training).

Base Training
To complete the Type Qualification training circuits are flown on a Ryanair 737-800.

Line Training
This will be provided by Ryanair from one of their bases, and will take approximately 3 months.

Entry level for the TQ course
- Flight Crew License (theoretical ATPL with a valid CPL)
- Multi engine rating
- Instrument rating
- Radio/telephony rating
- Multi Crew Cooperation Course Certificate

Costs
Admission fee and screening: € 350.-- (incl. VAT) per ab-initio student
Admission fee and simulator assessment: € 525.-- (incl. VAT) per experienced crew member
Type Qualification course: € 23.500.-- (excl. VAT) per student
JAR-OPS/Company Initials Training €1.000,-- (excl. VAT) per student
Extra costs (travelling, housing): at cost payable by student

Accommodation and travelling
Accommodation and travelling during screening and TQ course will be at your own expense and responsibility. CAE will try to support you in finding affordable accommodation.

Training start dates
Courses start throughout the year for successful candidates.
