Any people know if Larkhill (on Salisbury Plain training area, Wilts) is having a Firepower event open to the public as they did in July 2002 ???

From memory the 2002 event was the Army's turn at hosting the post-Royal Tournament public display. This year it was the RAF's turn but that has now been cancelled (postponed from last year). Next year it's the Navy's turn so I guess you may see something at Larkhill in 2006?

Ah, trust ABIW to start his contribution to any thread with an insult aimed at the Army. The AH trials are progressing well with SHOL trials about to start next week and the IOC will be met in September...so whats the problem?...how is the Eurofighter MAR and RTS going then ABIW?

Are there enough Army chaps (and chapesses) plus kit left in the UK to be able to organise and conduct a half decent 'Far Par' display? What with Trust-me-Tone's overstretch, there are probably only 'Rattles, Bren gun simulation' left in RA stores these days.

(There really were such things - we had some in the school CCF! When the enemy appeared, you twirled the thing around your head having first lugged your trusty DP Bren gun to some spot in the woods! Marginally easier than shouting 'BANG' several times per second!)
