First visit to this forum so apologies if this is beaten to death elsewhere. I have stupidly agreed to give a carreers type talk to my local school re pilot employment in general. Happy to cover the military side but need gen on which UK airlines offer (or have offered) cadetship and sponsorship schemes. I'm interested in ones which might not be in action at the moment but might kick in if the market picks up.
No need to go into too much detail - one liners will do.

FlyBe did offer a part Sponsorship earlier in the year through CabAir. Student outlay was around 30k.
Britannia did as well, but through the Old BAE Systems in Jerez. Talk of them redoing it this year.

Try the BALPA website not to sure on the address but if up type balpa into your search engine it will come up. On this site is a word doc that has all the UK airlines on it, all the sponsorships that have ran and that may run in the future. Cheers:ok:

BA are the obvious ones missing from the above lists. They are not currently recruiting, and are unlikely to do so for some time, but they were the largest player in the sponsored cadet game for many years.
Most of the charter airlines have run sponsorships at various times, and many will again. Even Virgin Atlantic ran a brief sponsorship scheme in 99/00, when Virgin Sun needed low-houred pilots. Air Atlantique still run their apprentice-type sponsorship (the 'fugly' scheme).
