Isn't it lucky we don't have a 'Victory in Denmark Day'.

or a 'Defeat in Portugal Day'..........

Am I, in my senility, missing something here?

The Danes put up a very determined resistance to the Germans, at great risk to themselves and at the end of the occupation could very reasonably have held a Denmark Day!

Somewhere I read that the Danes saved more Jews than any other nation in Europe!

I really do hope that I have missed something and am very happy to be shown to be a complete pratt, we don't get all the up to date news over here, (even though it is only a few hundred Kms), as often as we would like!

Ever given it a thought that this might not refer to a world war??

What would we forgive Uruguay for?? Can't we just blame everything on them, and be done with??

One always associates the word "Victory" with Nelson, bless him, who wasn`t very nice to the Danes at Copenhagen. I don`t suppose his flagship then was Victory, it was probably Elephant or somesuch. Anyway, I noticed a gents outfitters in Silkeborg a few years back named after the admiral.....which just shows how forgiving the Danes are.

And how cramped would Nyhavn be if Nelson hadn't widened the streets?

Nelson was rather thuggish at Copenhagen.
