G'day all,

I have a Garmin 100, surplus to requirements. It was in a working condition when removed from the aircraft and comes with the mounting rack, but no external antenna (still on aircraft), or current database.

What's it worth?

A slab of two dogs perhaps?

Cheers, HH.

Maybe a bit more than that: Garmin gave quite a handsome trade in for 100's against 295's a year or so ago, and there appears to be a demand for the old unit. Don't know why or where, but certainly worth chasing. Around $A1000, IIRC.

John,

You jest, I can pick up a KLN90B cheaper than that.

A GPS 100 isn't even supported by Garmin anymore for database updates as it's internal memory is too small. They are a 13 year old VFR only unit. $1000, jeepers.
This guy seems desperate though, might want to try him.

You can find them quite often on EBAY although only one there at the moment. Don't always be put off when the seller says they will only ship to USA etc. A few emails to establish your interest in most cases will get the seller to change their mind.

Three GPS 100s were traded here at work, for three GPS III Pilots with voucher for the current database. No dollars required.

Apparently the US military were after them for parts and were covering the cost of the exchange.
