GAPAN OFFERS A FLYING START TO 2004 FOR AVIATION CAREERS
The Guild of Air Pilots and Air Navigators (GAPAN) today announced its Scholarship Awards programme for 2004
This provides a unique opportunity for people who would like to become pilots or to further their qualifications as pilots.
The Scholarships' aims are straightforward – to help those wishing to pursue a flying start to their career – with no strings attached.
Getting started on a career in aviation is a challenge in itself – not least because of the financial costs. GAPAN has a particular interest in helping those people for whom the financial burden might otherwise hinder their ambitions.
The Scholarships for 2004 are:

Flying Instructor FI(R) Aeroplane and FI(R) Helicopter courses
The criteria for successful applications includes:
your ability to demonstrate a serious ambition and ability to pursue an aviation based career
your availability to undertake and complete training award during summer 2004
your educational achievements, demonstrable knowledge and/or experience in science, mathematics or other aviation related subjects
you must be able to satisfy the relevant CAA medical standard to enable grant of the appropriate licence and any relevant CAA pre-course entry requirements
you must be aged at least 17 years at the commencement of training on 1 July 2004
Applications must be made by 8 April 2004 on the GAPAN Scholarship Application Form available from the GAPAN Website: www.gapan.org
Alternatively, please write enclosing a stamped addressed A4 size envelope to: The Scholarships Secretary, at the address given below.
Please indicate which Scholarship you wish to be considered for: PPL, FI R or FI R(H).
Interviews will be held in London, commencing mid May 2004
