CAP 459 Civil Aircraft Inspection Procedures is a very informative document, but has been superseded by CAP 562 Civil Aircraft Airworthiness Information and Procedures, which in my opinion is not as good. CAP 459 is no longer available/amended and as such is not an approved publication, but see below.

CAP 562 is available from the CAA via Documedia. This is the publication you should be able to get hold of, it is amended and contains all of the up to date info. Unfortunately most of the really obscure stuff in CAP 459 is missing.

Documedia info CAP 562 link (http://www.caa.co.uk/publications/publicationdetails.asp?id=92)

As for the original CAIP If you visit Here (http://www.airmech.co.uk) you can get access to this document online. This is the aircraft engineers website you will need to join the JAR66 Club. Details on the site.

Hope this helps.

The Doc

It is worth while keeping an eye on the CAA's web site under publications as the CAPs that are current and subject to amendment are in the process of being added. CAAIP is a current document and could soon join the list of other CAA publications now freely available.

If you subscribe to THIS (http://www.jar66club.com) web site (£10 per module I think) you can access their on line CAIP's. Some pages are not too well copied but otherwise they are complete. You also get access to their database of JAR (UK) questions.

The old CAIP's were far superior to the newer CAAIP's and are still a valuable reference for study and revision.

P.S. Not associated with this site but do think it is a good site for studying.
