Last night a group of my airline friends with their families assembled in a field in rural Nottinghamshire to enjoy a traditional Bonfire night.a sober meeting of old friends as two are serving notice prior to redundancy, one is facing the loss of his command, others the stagnation of thier careers after the outrage of September 11th.

So for a change we gave Guy Fawkes the night off and instead sitting high up on the 12 ft pile of Jet A-1 soaked wood was a superb effigy of that bearded, sandle wearing, turban topped ******* monster -Osama Bin Laden, complete with plastic AK-47.

It was with great cheer that we watched the flames engulf this evil chap and it gave us all an all to rare chance to smile and feelgood in these troubled times. Time for the military to finish off the real one!

Funnily enough my kids are just putting a beard and turban on the bin-laden now, so we can burn him on the fire tonight.... Maybe with an air bomb up it's arse. :D :D :D

Yeah, definately a good year for Guy to have a rest....

Has anybody noticed the resemblance that the git known as Bin Laden has to a certain Tory MP?

If you stuck a beard and turban on John Redwood, it would be a close match. Are they related?

Yes, isn't it strange that when anybody, and I mean anybody, in the world burns an U.S. flag all the media is there to report it, but when the shoe is on the other foot.

Well, you know what I mean.

Strange PC times we live in.

I hope that some of you saw the cracking picture in one of today's UK papers, of a bearded Northern Alliance fighter bending over to say his prayers on a Stars n' Stripes beach towel! It makes me think that there is some hope for better things...

AerBabe!

I was wondering if you were OK, since I haven't 'come across' you lately in Chat.

Sorry you've lost your job and been in an accident... E-mail me and let me know how you are.

Mystery solved! :)

Sorry to hear about your job, SC. These are shitty times and no mistake.

And an accident? Are you okay?

Sorry for the confusion Huggy!

Was squished by a lorry, but am basically OK. Few ribs and a toe broken, scratches and bruises, hole in my arm, but basically in one piece, will have class 1 back soon.

Car's a mess though, and was lucky to survive!

Well, I assume the car was insured...

Not a good idea trying to argue with a lorry - they tend to win. Mend soon. Glad they didn't get your typing fingers! :D

Thanks :)

Car as only insured 3rd party, but he hit me up the tail (incidentally pounding me under the axle of another artic  ) so his insurance should pay me well for injuries and loss of earning potential, as well as one immaculate Escort TD.

The good thing is though that I have an excuse to give you lots of TLC :) Is this really me posting though, or is it SC again?!

Sorry for any confusion caused by me forgetting to log off his PC. Bad AB!

So another young lady is lost, seduced by the ubiquitous "wandering right hand over the right shoulder and grazing the right boob" trick so beloved of all us males.

A Pprune Romance? Sounds like a good name for a song, a TV series even..... Glad you're still with us, SC, hope you mend quickly, but my duty is now clear. It is with a heavy heart that I remove AB's name from the OzBash possibles. Love has defeated me again!

:( :( :(

Excuse me while I go out to shoot myself... :(

Any HGV drivers here that could have another go at SC please? :D

Send Clowns,

Sorry to hear about losing your job and accident. I hope AB's looking after you well!

AerBabe,

I'm glad you're OK, but you'd better look after SC well then! ;)

Bluddy hell Clowns, it's not as if we have any eligible young non-MCP bachelors to spare in this place, so make sure this kind of fooloishness doesn't happen again eh?

:D Very very happy you survived mate! <MWAH> :D

Babe nursing an unwell male of the species is one of the worst fates that can befall a woman, but since you're in the throws of first blinding luuuuuuuuurv, perhaps it won't be so bad? ;)

Thinking of you both.

Yes, VERY bad AB, get someone close to you to spank you.

On the other hand, maybe not - you might both enjoy it and he wouldn't have a hand free !

Flaps, I know all about nursing the unwell male of the species, and unfortunately, I don't have the numbing effects of the first flush of a romance to help me through it!! I really do need to consider seriously just why I chose nursing as a career option, I think!!!

Hug, please don't shoot yourself. It's very messy and nurses like me are the ones left to clean it all up, and blood on my uniform is not a good look. Secondly, if you do that, then the cruise is off, and I'm not going to get the opportunity to sip g&t's on a deck, whilst appreciating the cut of a good Mambo shirt... :)
