Great thread!
How about a wider topic to cover those tales of daring do / lucky escapes not specific to the V force.
A few that I would like to hear the truth about:
Shack V Carrier
Nimrod chasing 'periscope' sightings only to realise that 'periscope' was series of splashes from rounds (fired from not so friendly Eastern Bloc ship)!
Nimrod spinning and being recovered.
Hawk canopy opening on climb out - pilot ejects (safely) - ac stays in circuit?!?
etc etc
