I had the extreme pleasure to go to Jan's chalet to gather some background material for the presentation of Honorary Fellow at Society of Experimental Test Pilots several years ago. A wonderful gentleman, and an absolute delight to talk with. His wife was equally charming.
Amazing history and a true test pilot. I also gave him some illicit helicopter time when I went back to make the presentation to him. He loved it.
