Can anybody tell me what is required for an ATPL(H) holder to get a CPL(A). I've got a private fixed wing licence, and about 60 hours I think. I understand that there are 7 exams for a CPL these days, will I need to sit them all?? Thanks....:ok:

You will need a fixed wing medical

Not to get scared of heights

Land with more than 40 kts IAS

(just joking) :}

CAR 5.113 (http://scaleplus.law.gov.au/html/pastereg/0/51/0/PR003320.htm) Aeronautical experience: commercial (helicopter) pilots and air transport (helicopter) pilots will set you straight as far as hours goes.

For the exams, if you have a PP(A)L, you would already have the BAK, therefore you only need to do four exams specific to aeroplanes, Navigation, Met, and Human Factors are common between H and A.

The four exams you would have to "sit" would be

CLWA - CPL Flight Rules & Air Law (Aeroplane)
CADA - CPL Aerodynamics (Aeroplane)
CSYA - CPL Aircraft General Knowledge (Aeroplane)
CFPA - CPL Operation, Performance & Flight Planning (Aeroplane)

These exams are all online, done though a "service" provider ASL.

Thanks very much swh. Maybe whilst I'm upgrading my medical, the doc could perform the frontal labotomy, which I believe is another requirement for plank drivers;)

Cheers.
