Can someone please confirm if the very popular, fantasticly professional, dedicated cabin-crew manager (yes, I am been sarcastic) Mr. Gates himself been terminated? Don't know if that's good news or bad news because one dummy (Saliya) will probably end up as cc manager - boy, i feel so sorry for the cc if this is true. Comments please...........

Well, apparently it's true that bob's out......what a shame!!!!!!Also, the puppet Saliya is in as cc Manager, morale will drop even further now, saliya is two faced and anyone reading this post BEWARE, he'll backstab you no matter what you think of him, whatever you do do not put any trust in him because he simply cannot be trusted - he's Al Bakers "YES" man (if you can call him a man). He's worse than a snake, he's evil and I pity my dear colleagues in QR ......keep smiling crew and stay well away from him no matter what.

Bob has lasted longer than expected as far as I am concerned. Ah well, he has plenty more time to play Golf now!

The seriously bad news is that Saliya will now be back in the hot seat, so long as he doesn't slide off it with that slimy skin of his!!

Quite correct in mentioning his backstabbing. Too many crew think he is very approachable and helpful and do not realise he is actually s******g on them right in front of their eyes.

If you ever prove him wrong, (and I did once!) he will never admit it and in fact just try to cause more grief for you.

This is bad, and extremely sad, news for the devoted at QR.

Still one down and all that eh?

* As for Bob,I feel sorry for him.although he was never the perfect manager, there was also no harm from him.

He actually told me a few days before I left that he was just trying to stay as long as possible to make some money then leave! But he didn't know how long he would last one way or another!

Fore!

Bob was actually a nice harmless guy who actually suffered just as much as the rest of you, just at a different level in the company.

I wish him luck actually.

Speaking of people leaving, where has RB at Human Resources gone?

Bob Gates was a waste of time and money - he had the P/S doing everything for him, the usual day-to-day terminations was done by the Snake, the Snake always reports back to Akbar (who believes EVERYTHING he says)......I've heard that Saliya is acting cc manager (how many people in various departments have been "acting" this or that?)

Bob has gone and he won't be missed - the biggest nightmare now is the evil SNAKE himself........fate will take action and he will also fall flat on his face too

Why are my comments inane, Jet? Just to re-clarify what I meant, I have been reading for years now on Pprune about how much the cabin crew has suffered under the "regime". Yes, I admit that I have been critical of Bob in the past. I hold my hands up to that, and hence deserve your label as a hyprocrite.

However, I just heard a couple of days ago about the way that Bob was treated in the latter days and the real reason why he was made to go, and I find that he has simply been treated as shoddily as some of his cabin crew have been over the years.

i.e. regardless of an individuals level (i.e. position or seniority or pecking order...), when it comes to "termination", the same terrible principles are applied (from the tea boy, all the way up to MD).

Have I explained myself satisfactorily, or is further amplification needed?

A300Man, "as some of his cabin crew have been over the years", good to see that at least you admit not all cabin crew are treated bad at QR.

ayomide, back in Qatar soon!

ayomide, you were the disbliever! i don't recall anyone saying that all of the Cabin Crew were treated badly!

all depends on if your face fits to be honest.

good example and i hope that at least A300 Man will know the people i am talking about here:

one of the old school RM has just be accepted back into the fold. she is a friend of mine and will be the first to admit that her record was by no means perfect and she had various "reprimands" of sorts, but she worked hard. another ex crew CL, who is a friend of mine and of RM, re applied but was refused...she had worked her way up the ladder, was popular, kept her nose clean and resigned quietly...quite simply her face didn't fit...she was treated quite differently when she resigned unlike the aforementioned, who has now been accepted back.

and before you begin to swing your handbag again ayomide, i am simply giving an example of the kind of thing that DOES go on.

...and before you question my sources...a phonecall from CL herself to my home!

A300 Man's comments about Bob Gates, well, are correct! everybody suffers, same as Sooty when he left!

there are many happy crew and staff at QR and that's great, but I believe that they are in the minority.

I hope Saliya the Snake is reading this because the dirties about him (yes there are more to come) will appear on this site...

The vast majority of crew are very unhappy with QR, can't understand why anyone would want to go back there.

Bob Gates actually told certain colleagues of mine that they should apply to B.A and that was a couple of years ago.

Here in europe QR has an appalling reputatiion amongst cc and f/deck crew, not half as bad as the puppet, Saliya.

homesick rae,

I am not swinging my handbag, just expressing my thoughts as you all are! I could at least give one name of a person who says all crew at QR are miserable.

If it all depends on the face, I guess my face fitted their taste.

ayomide...
quote "... all crew at QR are miserable...."
Every single one of them. There is not one cc who is happy in the entire company.

Come on... stop typing rubbish...

Hey guys.....
I hate to say it but precious BOB is the lessor of two evils when it comes to himself and Bunny Boilers Muppet Saliya!!!!
Mind you Ill never forget when Bob told me I was leaving QR cos I couldnt hack it....NO BOB......BUT WHEN BA COME A CALLING YOU DONT WAIT FOR THINGS TO GET BETTER AT QR!!!!

I will admit though guys, I had a ball down in Qatar but thats cos I joined with a huge amount of Irish and we did our best to stay away from the Qatar Airways social thingy as best we could but notice how when one started to leave that was the rest of us!!! Mind you some of the irish are still there...barely so best of luck to you guys...remember, when you do leave im more than happy to help with the rehabilitation backinto the real world!!!

XXX :ok:

p.s....to you disbelievers....yes Qatar Airways is exactly what they say it is on these forums but if you do decide to take, all the best with it, make it what you want and try to enjoy yourself...I did enjoy it and I really miss my KL and KTM layovers and I can gaurantee you that it will stand to you when you apply for a "proper" airline....i reckon its what got me direct into BA longhaul but then Im not really sure how I got selected for that!
