Was watching BBC SEast TV tonight when a brief glimpse of Manston traffic was shown --Cargo Lion climbing out ------was this an old shot ----- I was under the impression that they are no longer around?
I saw the news as well, I thought it was MK taking off, and Cargo Lion (African International) parked up.

Thanks for that --I should have been watching more closely!!!!!!
I'll put the paper down next time and give my full attention to the news!--or get some glasses!
Can you answer the other bit --Have CL restarted or is the parked aircraft defunct?
Sorry I didn't make it clear, the aircraft belongs African International. I believe they use it to keep the rest of their fleet flying.

A Border Inspection Post for non-EU meat and fish is being constructed now. Does anyone have any idea of what sort of flows this might attract?
Is this not Kent International or has it reverted to its proper name.

Nope, it's LONDON MANSTON
just like London Luton, London Stansted, London Gatwick, London Biggin Hill and for good measure Nottingham East Midlands. It's all in a name ?...?

I think the Kent International proponents came to realise that KIA has unfortunate connotations:}

Keeping this thread alive
Anyone heard anymore about the low cost carrier starting up at Manston?
Local rag says 2 or 3 consignments a week of Nile carp from Kenya will use the new BIP. Presumably this means more work for MK?

That aside I was impressed on a recent visit to see the amount of work / refurb that was underway, also the number of routes on offer with EUjet. Seems someone has faith.

Flew EUJet resently from Manchester. Ask me if I missed the traffic down the M6 (even though the new tollroad makes life easier), and round the 25. An hour later and I was in Planet Thanet. Nice and quiet up front. Lets hope EUJet keeps flying.
