A surprised Norwegen spectator group, viewing the Swedish Motor Rally found that their helicopter had sunk into the cold waters of a lake that they had landed on. The pilot landed on the frozen lake and went with his passengers to see a stage of the Swedish Rally. The ice not being stong enough to support the weight of the helicopter (type unknown) , the helicopter sank into the icy depths.

You have your facts mixed up a bit. :E
The Helo did a emergency landing in a river 2.5KM west of the town of Hagfors after loosing altitude. (cause not reported)

According to Swedish news media, the helo narrowly missed a set of powerlines during the approach.

The helo is a R44 (LN-OGT) owned by "Helikoptertjeneste" in Ålesund, Norway. (Picture) (http://www1.airpics.com/showimg.php?imgid=44425)

Now the media reports that they struck the powerlines in low vis conditions leading to the ditch in the river.

A few years ago a Twin Otter sank into the ice at the North Pole. A tour operator ran summer excursions to the Pole in the Otter, which I think was owned by Bradley Air Service. Anyway, the deal was that the plane landed on the ice, the tourists got out and had a champagne lunch. It can get pretty warm up there in the middle of summer and the pilot didn't notice that the plane was sinking into the melting ice until it was too late. I believe the Otter is still there. This is for real - I saw the whole thing on TV.
