Wondering if anyone could let me know where UK airlines such as Virgin Atlantic and BMI do their base training?

Regards

I heard a rumour that Virgin were only looking at recruiting 'zero time' flightcrews so there would be no need for base training.

Don't work for either of the above airlines, but my base training on the 757 was at Prestwick (based at LGW), but could have been Cardiff or Manston depending on the wind. On the day it favoured Prestwick, so that was where we went.

I suspect that most airlines will find an airfield which strikes a balance between cost and training benefit.

Virgin and BMI (SAA) have both been at PIK training in the last few years.

Cheers for the replies! I go to Loughborough University in the UK which is very close to EMA (sorry NEMA) so was wondering if im likely to see any base training there!

Regards to all.

EMA busy lately with Ryanair -800 base training. My mob use Chateauxroux in France if available otherwise Manston or Prestwick or even Shannon.

Brize Norton sometimes sees Virgin or BA doing base training there too !
