Seems to work well in patient's where there is a medical reason for lack of, or lack of maintenance of erection (erectyle dysfunction).

Not so good if your reasons for the problem are not medical.

Has to be used with caution if you have certain conditions affecting the heart, or blood vessels.

Can have some side effects, including heartburn, vomitting, dizziness, but then again, so does 8pints of stella and a curry. (My own personal remedy)

I have prescribed it a fair amount and it's very effective in appropriate circumstances. Record is an 87 year old off for a dirty weekend (his words) in Torquay. He reported great success.

Isn't the reasons for erectile dysfunction something like 85 % psychological? Cant remember the source. Anyone got the stats?

Aviate1138 ponders.....

No, but put a willing nubile young lady under any middle aged man and Viagra is not needed. In about 99.999% of the time. How long he lasts is another matter.

Highly variable. The older you get the more likely it is to be organic. In case you're interested, in organic impotence there are no spontaneous early morning erections, whereas if the cause is more psychological there generally are. I tend to use that as a screening question.

Of course, Viagra will also have a large placebo effect, so may also be useful in psychological impotence too.

You didn't mean to say that, did you? Good job these forums are anonymous...

It used to be thought that ED was mainly a psychological problem, but as QDM says, there is more and more evidence of organic causes. These include diabetes, vascular disease, etc.

Anyway:

An airline pilot was reported (or did he report himself?) for discussing the fact that he saw blue around his peripheral vision. Co-pilot shopped him. He admitted taking viagra 'x' hours before the flight (Florida I think it was)

Interference with colour vision (particularly in the blue range) is well described. Other concerns are a reduction in G tolerance.

That last post brough this to mind:

A Hawaii woodpecker and a California woodpecker were arguing about which place had the toughest trees.

The Hawaii woodpecker said that they had a tree that no woodpecker could peck. The California woodpecker challenged him and promptly pecked a hole in the tree with no problem.

The Hawaii woodpecker was in awe. The California woodpecker then challenged the Hawaii woodpecker to peck a tree in California that was absolutely un-peckable. The Hawaii woodpecker expressed confidence that he could do it and accepted the challenge. After flying to California, the Hawaii woodpecker successfully pecked the tree with no problem.

The two woodpeckers were now confused. How is it that the California woodpecker was able to peck the Hawaiian tree and the Hawaiian woodpecker was able to peck the California tree; yet neither one was able to peck the tree in their own state?

After much woodpecker-pondering, they both came to the same conclusion: Your pecker is always harder when you're away from home.

Other concerns are a reduction in G tolerance But an increase in G spot tolerance :ok:

put a willing nubile young lady under any middle aged man and Viagra is not needed ...though perhaps not Mr. Humphries "Are you free Mr Humphries?" "Yes I'm free Mr. Lucas."
