I'm just coming up to my first 5 year medical (JAA), and i was just wondering apart from the ecg and audiogram, are there any other extra's that doctors like to throw in at this point in time. Also can anyone tell me what i should expect to pay. My first medical was £250 ish (initial at gatwick), second one was 150 (london prices) my third was 110 and my last one was 90 (all different doctors). I Know that it will get more expensive for the five year ones, but it seems to pay to shop around.

Perhaps I am stupid, but will use the excuse that I dont spend time in UK, and might have missed the small print......what is a 5 year JAR medical. ?

Five yearly isn't exactly the right term. But every five years (if you're under fourty i think) apart from the normal medical renewal you also have to do an ECG and an Audiogram. I was wondering if there were any other tests that some doctors like to include, and a general price i should expect to pay for these extra tests.
