I've recently come across a couple of companies advertising an SPH5-style helmet, described as a "kevlar helicopter helmet HH-SV made to the same Mil-spec as the Gentex SPH5"

Anyone know what the difference is? They retail for AUS$1750.

I believe these are the kevlar helmets, but with the webbing type interior not the TPL. Drop me pm if you want the details of the distributor in the U.S. I bought some bits off them last year. Very helpful, they take credit cards, they're a stack cheaper and will deliver to your doorstep in around two weeks

Could be when an SPH4B is fixed up to look like an SPH5. I cant tell the difference.
Big change is between SPH4 and 4B. Interior is gutted and dual visors.
Im sure some can tell you exactly. If you send an email to the folks at Flightsuits they are usually pretty helpful. www.flightsuits.com

E-mail me if you want a proper SPH5 in great condition for a grand.
I also might be selling my Alpha to upgrade.
