Air India returning to Nigeria

The airline plan on resuming service to Lagos via Nairobi in April, the route was axed in late 80's due to detention of aircraft an A310 and entire flight crew including cabin staff for three weeks after heroin was discovered on a flight that had arrived from India.

Route has been cancelled as the Indian govt. did not give permission, its been removed from CRS.

Probably a good thing it was cancelled. Service into Nigeria is risky. The 747 off the runway as a result of poor Tower guidance and the fiasco of Ritetime stranding passengers is pretty standaed fare. I remember last year several stories about Nigerians stranded all over the place by their national airline. It's definitely not an easy market to serve.
