Having been checking on the flight of a friend who flew to Milan on Thursday and is coming back today, I have come to the conclusion that the "Arrivals and Departures" information available on BA.com (http://www.ba.com) is nothing but a work of fiction.
On Thursday they were showing the 13.40 flight to MXP as estimated on time, up until 14.00 when it went to 1505, this did not change until the flight left at 17.01. The flight did not actually take off until after 17.40.
Today I am due to meet said friend in London, at the moment departures are showing BA573 as estimated to be departing 4 mins late(STD1220 , ETD1224). However arrivals are showing a 2hr30 mins delay (STA 1330, ETA1600). I have checked these a few times over the last 30 mins and no change, so it can't be a case of I caught it between an update.
So my question is .... Whats the point? Why provide innaccurate information? or are they intentionally not telling passengers of departure delays so they get to the airport on time?
