Just wondering what the latest news is there. I dont want to start a big fight here.Just somenews and facts. How are they doing? What happened to the once CP? I hear that the case was dropped and he took a licence suspenssion. Anyone know the details? I hope after all that past business they are better for it, particularlly for the lads working there.

A bit of a sad story, unfortunately all the pilots (bar the new chief and HE) have been put back to casual. Claims of hard times. Also claims of wanting to get rid of certain people for supposed anti-NGU sentiment (I don't know why?). A hassle-free way of doing it. Also seems there has been some pilots going over the top. I hope the guys affected can move onto things bigger and better.

Business as usual. Unfortunately it seems GA will never change.

Bit of a bummer for those guys. I suppose if they are doing 100 hours a month they should be making more as casual pilots.

What do you mean by anti Ngu sentiment? Could anyone there be pissed off with the treatment they are getting? Are they really having hard times, or is that just BS?

No doubt the good blokes will move on to bigger and better things. And if things dont work out there they can always come to this great place. Plenty going here.

Think everything is swell at NGU (single work) just YPDN slow.

Doesn't seem to be anyone moving there (just quitting).

Times are great at Air Ngu. Although very slow in DN at the moment as most Januarys are. Most Full timers put back to casual, except for 4 including the CP and HE. I can't think of anyone pilot that has been employed over the top over the last six months. In fact there hasn't been.

Last person hired over the top was 18 months ago, should try getting your facts straight you stirring twit. (Unless bloke in hangar going to Bandit command maybe!)
Bandit ground school in three weeks I hear.

Well said Anti,

From what I know, most of the pilots are completely happy with the casual basis as it will ensure survival of the company over the quiet months of Jan/Feb. Full time positions will be available when the work picks up. Its just business. Just like another GA company in Darwin does every year.

One pilot was sacked for gross misconduct, another left on his own accord and has established employment elsewhere.

No one recently has been hired over the top!

These are the facts.

I wonder why it wasnt done sooner! When you have a self admitted fulltime senior pilot, saying he has been trying to shaft the company over the last six months, just coz he is sick of it who has been one of the best looked after pilots there, and WAS the one who was employed over the top about 18 months ago. Look out QF!

This 'over the top' thing is a real Australianism. I must admit when I was in Air Ngukurr we were all pissed when HE hired over the top. But there is nothing wrong with it realy. You cant put guys on complex machines if they are not ready. However if you have given good service to the company you should be given a shot at least. I seem to remember that HE never checked us out after the initial check ride. Yep I had a check then in the next 13 months did only one session of night circuits at NGU. So if this is still the case how can you decide who is the best for the job? Put it this way if there is a guy at Air Ngukurr and he has been flying there for a year on 210s. He is entitled to be pissed off if they bring in a guy to fly the 310.

Anyway if you want to fly twins come to Africa. I turned down a job on a Seneca and 402 the other day, 100+ hours per month. I hear he will need someone else real soon. No singles in this company. There is going to be a shortage of pilots hear soon, there is now. If you want details PM me.

Cheers lads:ok:

I think its time you realised H.E. does not run Air Ngukurr anymore.
If you are who I think you are then l think it is time you distance yourself from the past.
Air Ngukurr is a totally different company than it was back then.
You don't know the crew employed there at the moment so you probably should not get involved in c**p you have no idea about.
Try not to be eaten by a rogue pack of meer cats whilst on sogurne in Africa.
Leave it to people who know what is happening in the mother country to do the right thing.
Hope you hav'nt been venturing into the flight levels in C210's whilst over there.
PS, If you see any MAF w******s flying around over there could you please feed them to the LIONS!

Love

To this date I am the only pilot the new CP has put on, and guess where I am, sunny down town Ngukurr (God help the poor pilot I jumped over if I was hired over the top! ).

BTW you were right phonebox, we are quiet busy down here compared to Darwin. Everyone is averaging about 15 hours per week.

Hi Anti,

Yep sounds like you know exactly who I am. You are right that I do not know what is going on over there or anything about how this company now runs. Thats why I asked the original question. As for the coments I just made in the last post, well I am just adding my opinion on the off topic turn this thread has taken.

I have not seen any meer cats yet. Hyena gave me a bit of a start when walking from a airstip in Serengeti to the lodge though.

I have bumped into a few MAF dudes here. Best equiped hangar I have ever seen. All aircraft kitted to the max. No bull I think they could almost do heavy jet maintenance in this place. Nice to see some operations have money to burn.

Take it real sleazy.

You know its great to hear you lads are happy. Also that HE is not driving the ship now. Or at least he changed his style.

When I was there Air Ngukurr was still very small. I was the fourth pilot on. Slowly it grew and more pilots were employed. I cant remember anyone ever being happy at Ngukurr. A couple of the guys that got based in Darwin were......content. But I can never remember anyone saying they were loving it.

Seems things chaged for the better after the trouble there.;)

Helldog, how you going mate.

Your photos are still up at the donga, if you care picking them up:cool:

Yes the company has changed for the better, however me thinks the town is going down, there's more and more violence and petrol sniffing, our car has been stolen twice in six weeks and damaged.

Its not like it used to be, you cop a lot more abuse and the whole joint is just filthy. the cleaning patrols have not been working for over 4 months, you should come and see the council premises, they look like the streets of calcutta.

The only good thing is dem fellas know who i am, they don;t mess with me and everything will run smoothly.

On the other hand the flying is great, exept for that time we had to clean someone's vomit out of the seat pocket of the 210

Not always NGU-RRB. maybe 40% of our work. otherwise Tindal, hodgson downs, numbulwar, groote and odd cool Darwin charters

I'll just be happy(er) when my time is up here in NGU.

DJ Dave

hopefully Bandit Captain within 15 years.

So what is he doing there without a Pilot License then. Suspended for how long helldog? Maybe he's a full time $60K per year gardener!!!?

You bet H.E.'s at the helm alright. Otherwise, why not put HIM on casual. That'd be a laugh:E :E

Oh!! Right!! You're all going to say the Ngukurr Clan need him there 'cos he's the only one they can trust??? Well if that's the case, he really has the wool pulled over their eyes.

What's the new CEO doing?? Sitting on his hands?? More like sitting on H.E's hand as this guy would have to be the funniest puppet I've ever seen!

One thing's for sure, if and when H.E. gets his license back, I'd love to be a fly in the Bandit cockpit when he goes flying with the new CP!!

G.A. Boy, I am glad to see you are not holding back. I do understand what you are up against. I have had my fair share of the network, one name comes to mind, and I know it does to you as well. If the department would just give the new CP’s a fair go, the company would actually obtain a stable approach to the GA market.

The long and hard road, has been holding most CP’s back.

Fortunately for some, due to the overwhelming attention drawn to the company in question, most of the opposing companies have had a free ride.

I have never seen such waste of good recourses, for example, why would an FOI do three (3) routine ramp checks on the same AC in one week. They really wanted to find something, but never did. I kept a clean ship, and I am sure it is just as clean as I left it.

Good luck, GA Boy.

Really, have a listen to yaself. leave it alone and move on. Let the rest of us get what you got out of the company. Yes, the 500 M/E.

Dont burn your bridges mate.

Hey DJ,

I have photos there? Nothing incriminating I hope;)

Is the spud gun there? Is it still operational? I think it is due for a check III by now.

God sounds like hell got even worse. That troopy has been stolen som many times. Been rolled twice...added to that yet?

Thanks for the news. Say hi to Pommy Ray, Blinky Bill, Wazza Starkey and the rest of the G Jockeys there. Also love to the Daniels, Mortons, Blitners, Mugrunguns, Joshuas etc.

PS slap Desley from Roper Bar Shop on the arse for me...with a cricket bat.

Oh and say g'day to the cops, Mick and Jamie.

Cheers:ok:

Helldog,

Mick and Jamie in Darwin now. New cops, they are sheit. And the blokes you mention , they still here except Starkey haven't seen him in a while. He tells me of this great story... the MYTH... troopie bogged down the back way. you are the legend down here, man !

We have a litlle holden astra. the troopie got too bad, they would not re-register it, esp after council wanted it back when the airline separated from the rest.

Hows Africa. That thing about 402 and chieftains job you turn down, is that for real ?

Catch ya

DJ Dave

spud gun needs a gas cliker, and is up for an AD/RAD/FPE next month.

Yeah man its all true. You been talking to Boat?

Just had my first official mission with my new employer on the 206. Arusha-Lake Manyara-Kilimanjaro-Arusha I chose to stay here because there is a better future in this company. The next step here is onto the Van. So if I behave I will get a shot, fairly soon I hope.

Yeah, not only did we bog the Air Ngukurr troopie, also the health troopie, two police cars, a tracktor and the big Cat with tank tracks, ahhhh that one stayed bogged. Bloody hell mate you talked to Starky long enough to listen to the whole story, your luck your brain didnt shrivel up.

Take it easy tiger.

:ok:

6th Feb 2004, 08:52
It wasnt the troopy it was the Delica, Ive still got the photos, remember Helldog. The Troopy wasnt back from Kathrine when SR rolled it.
I still remember the walk up to Honky place in the morning to tell him what happend.
yeah and they had to leave the bulldozer in the bog till the dry season, can you still see the bog from the air?

Troopie, right you are, it was the Delica. Remember we were pissed and I was pushing you to drive on? Dino was in the back packing darkies. Then we had to wade back to town.

Yep lucky honks was going fishing and was in a good mood. Ahhhh some fun time there I must addmit. Like the great caravan fire. I guess we can also say that we used to troopie to ram it a few times first...now that she is retired.

Oh and the fire that nearly blew up the power station. That was me...I may have had some help;) But it was all legal, because it was burnoff season. So we got clear permission from a local to burn as much bush as we felt was warranted. Lucky the power station had a fire break around it. Would have been nice to see it explode though:E

What was the distance we ended up getting on the spud gun when we had it out on the runway.
That reminds me, remember doing drags in the Delica on the runway at 12 at night, and doing drive buys at cane toad corner. And best of all the Roper river approach in to Roper Bar.

Helldog, been to the casino in Mwanza lately. hows my girls.

helldog
7th Feb 2004, 16:11
I cant remember the official distance achieved. But its amazing power was due to Steve's patented lip shaping. It allowed a better seal and easy spud cutting.

Mate I have been out of Mwanza for a while. I am now in Arusha. Heaps better, much more action. Lots of white girls, but I still cant resist the local chicks, they are so hot and far better in the sack.

Some girl asked about you, maybe it was the one you put away.

You should have stayed tiger you would be in a good job right now. But good luck up north.

I am virtually going to flog off now, yeeh thets rite.
