View Full Version : BT Voyager 2000 gobling up virtual memory?

Has anyone experienced this?

I use the BT voyager 2000 ADSL wireless router with the 1010 and 1020 dongles for the PC's.

I was amazed how easy it was to set up and use (minutes from box to on line with none of the problems colleagues seem to have had setting up wireless broadband)

We do, however, frequently get Virtual memory warnings and I heard that the transmitter box just gobbles up virtual memory until the PC hard drive crashes. I'm going to get in touch with BT but any help will be useful.

18greens,

It would really help having the specs on your hardware and OS. Without any details, it would be like me saying:

"I do not seem to be getting the range out of my airplane I think I should, the plane has a propeller. What do you think is wrong?"

Take Care,

Richard

Good point Richard,

One PCs is running XP Home and the other Windows 2000.

They are both P4 pentimum relatively new boxes(<1 year old).

18greens,

I really expected you to say that you were running a Win9X OS. You do not expect that from a WinNT OS. How much RAM are you running in each comp and what are your Virtual Memory Settings at?

Take Care,

Richard

RAM is 256 Mb per PC and the virtual memory is set at 350mb

18greens,

Since you have 256Mb of RAM, try putting all the RAM in the one machine for testing. That way you will have 512Mb of RAM and see if you still have the problem.

(Try the WinXP Machine first if the Memory Types are compatible.)

Take Care,

Richard
