Have heard rumours lately about a couple of incidents at VB that don't seem to have made their way onto the ATSB website.

First one involves a VB acft landing at TSV told to "go around" by the tower at 100ft because their gear wasn't down. Seems incredible with the 737 warning systems, but the story was apparently authentic.

Second one involves a jet upset by a VB 737, cruising above optimum as they usually do, encountered turbulence and lost 5000ft.

Anyone care to shed any light?

The ATSB website only deals with factual events. However, it is good to get a bit of dirty water off the old chest every so often eh, proplever !

Second one involves a jet upset  by a VB 737.......encountered turbulence and lost 5000ft. = encountered turbulence and descended 5,000ft to get a smoother ride!

Stick to props, pl, and leave the high altitude stuff to those qualified to fly there - you're only making an ass off yourself posting the sort of cr@p you have ("...told to "go around" by the tower at 100ft because their gear wasn't down. Seems incredible with the 737 warning systems, but the story was apparently authentic." - the word is INCREDULOUS, as in unbelievable fiction, btw.)
