I know this has been discussed at length previously but here goes. Returning from Manchester to Dusseldorf last night I had a skillet ( deep frying pan with lid ) purchased in the UK and packed in the box as cabin baggage. Security there informed me that it was not allowed in the cabin as it is a weapon "you can hit someone on the head with it" even by saying I worked in ATC and had ID it was no-go. How can this be justified when one can buy laptop computers in the Duty-free air-side, in my mind a laptop will do more damage as it is heavier! I do agree security is needed but this smacks of one man's (petty) decision.
Sorry but had to get that out of my system!!!
