Hello
When are BMI planning to fully withdraw the F100 from thier fleet-is it when all the A319s are delivered? And is the A319 soon due on routes that are currently F100 operated-e.g. LBA and MME in the summer?

Well mate i think it would be logic if they had taken out the F100s they would have to reshuffle some planes onto the missing routes!!

I think that maybe they will be replacing the F100`s when the spanking new 319`s arrive.....

Yes the Airbus A319s will be taking over the routes that the Fokkers took over from the 737s when they were transferred to baby.

Had heard that bmi wants to bring in up to five extra planes to regional to free up some of the new 319s for brand new routes ex-LHR. Thoughts?

Hope it won't be too long before we get the Airbus at LBA, I can't wait for the fokker to fokker off.

Does anyone know when it's due?

Cheers!!!;)

Not for a while by the sounds of things. Rumour has it that bmi will have 3 fokkers based in leeds for the summer. 2 replacing embraers.

If thats a joke, it ain't funny!!!!!!

No only joking, that would be cool, it will up the pax numbers, but I'll take it as a joke as I'd heard they were getting rid of them!

Don't take it as a joke.

Three F100s operating through LHR this summer :

No1 on LBA-LHR 4 x daily
No2 on MME-LHR 3 x daily with midday LHR-BRU
No3 on mix of HAJ, CDG and VCE.

LHR-Hannover being reduced from three to two per day with the midday flight coming out to provide aircraft/slots for the new LHR-Inverness daily service.

The three LBA-based F100s will be operating 1/ LHR, 2/ EDI and 3/ CDG, releasing two Embraers.

Apparently the spare Embraers will be used to further the vendetta against Eastern - one moving to EDI for EDI-Norwich plus a new route ex EDI to Germany? and one to MAN for MAN-Norwich-Aberdeen, so I hear.

Looks like LBA and MME will be Fokker 100s to Heathrow for the foreseeable future. Not sure if anyone else has heard the rumour about all F100s moving to bmi regional AOC and operating the LBA and MME to Heathrow services as a wet-lease back to mainline.

First four 319s into LHR this summer, mostly flying BRU, CDG, HAJ, INV, NAP and NCE. Only one more to come (order was for five, I think) so that means the "Heathrow"-based F100 on the HAJ,CDG, VCE routes can be replaced with a 319 but does not provide capacity for Leeds and TeesSide to move up to the Airbus.

I know it's slightly off topic but what's the background to Flightrider 's comment that Apparently the spare Embraers will be used to further the vendetta against Eastern .

Just wondering........

PM me if you prefer not to wash somebody else's dirty linen in public.

Not a lot more than what is already in the public domain.

First, they codeshare ex MAN and appear to be best of friends. bmi stopped EMA-ABZ, Eastern took it over with some assistance from bmi to do so.

Then the codesharing stops.

bmi regional started Norwich-Aberdeen in direct competition to Eastern.

bmi regional later announces services on two more Eastern routes, Manchester-Norwich and the relaunch of East Midlands-Aberdeen.

Put it another way, they either don't like Eastern or think that Eastern has such a fantastic business that they want a slice of the action as well.....and the reports on the latest moves would seem to confirm that either or both of the above is the case.

Flightrider,

You're nearly correct with your predictions. Yes LBA will have 3 x F100's this summer freeing up 2 ER4's.
The A319's wiil go to ABZ, BRU,CDG,NCE & NAP from LHR, with a based unit for Teesside from possibly July, depending on delivery dates although the MME based crew have their conversion courses for the A319 from May. No date yet for LBA so will be an F100 for the forseeable future.
4 x A319's are on order with the first immenent.

A F100 is showing operating the new midday LHR/INV/LHR daily service. Is that the MME based aircraft or another?

Anyone know where i can park a mobile home near Edinburgh airport? i think i just have to accept that a nomadic lifestyle is part-n-parcel off my life with regional. What really brasses me off is all these lease deals, so i am going to have to move again at my own expense so that some Fokker guys can fly my routes and stay in a warm hotel and get crew meals Grrrrrrrrrrrr:*

INKJET- bmir and turboprops to LCY!! what's all that about then?

Surely they'd use the -135 rather than lease in a prop and crew to fly the route for them. Hardly fleet commonality if they have 3 x fokkers, 2 x embraers and 1 x god knows what else to do a run to LCY.

And do we think they'll actually go through with LBA-CPH and the German routes this time? About blo*dy time if you ask me!

If I remember 3 years ago your bloody lot was kicking all us fokker drivers out of EMA and down to LHR so the pencil jet could fly the regional routes, now the shoe is on the other foot least you now know how p****d off we all were!!.

Now I am settled at LHR I have no wish to spend 4 nights a week covering LBA and I am sure the majority of LHR based guys probably feel the same way.

Are Bmi making any attempt to use their MAN flights to feed their A330 atlantic routes ?

I don't make the rules!!!!!!!

I guess you've made a packet out of the property price boom down there.

Like most i just want to see the wife and kids anyhow a memo from big Alex tells us that there will be no forced base moves but a far bit of HOTAC for us Leeds ladies!

Nice to see not much has changed at bmi, good to see the management there are working to a clear long term money making plan as ever, going head to head with a competitor, (if its true that they are going to enter an excercise at beating up Eastern), nice people these manager types!
Good to see they are being so objective when they continue to loose money, they all deserve a pay rise.
Glad I left when I did, so much nicer to be in a civil world.
Hows Baby doing, better than mainline I hope?

So is LBA a growing Embraer base, or a shrinking one?

If there's going to be a lot of HOTAC for LBA crews over the summer then that seems inconsistent with Inkjet's talk of new routes and 5 or 6 Embraers?

Sounds confusing!
