View Full Version : Where will EAAC go from here ?

There was a time when EAAC knew exactly where the plot was. Yes, admitedly, the BAC1-11 was a tired old workhorse, the B732 was also tired but ,with Stage 3 hushkits, could eek out a few more years before they also will fall foul of EEC noise legislation, but, at least, they were inundated with work and, no doubt, made a lot of money. The B742 may also be able to go on for a few more years before legislation also takes it out of competitive service but it also must have been/be quite a good money generator for the Company.

But what of the B733's that have been promised since mid. 2003 and the replacements for the the B742's (that surely must happen) which have been talked about so frequently ?
Where are they, what is going on ?

Does EAAC know where they are going next or have they really got the money on-tap to afford the next move ?

I see / hear a lot on Pprune regarding how much work EAAC have got for 2004 but see little proof of it around the UK Airports. Is it a case of wishful thinking of those responsible for running the Company or is it simply a case that the aircraft are operating outside of the UK environment and, therefore, are not immediately visible to the public eye ?

I really hope that they have got it right, as EAAC has been around for near enough 10 years now (some sort of a record, surely ?) and have, unwittingly, gained themselves quite a good reputation within the aviation industry. It was formed by a few people who really cared a lot (maybe because they were mainly ex. Dan-Air and really knew what Airline life was all about) but now seems to consist of a lot of people who care little, apart from what they can get out of the Company.

Will somebody senior at EAAC please enlighten the masses as to what is happening with this great Airline.

Well I aint senior management at EAAC but I can say that European have signed a contract with Excel (Aviation - the brokering arm of XLA) to operate a substantial amount of flights from UK regional airports for summer 2004. The aircraft stated is the 737-300 - 148Y.

Indeed NCL will have a based unit, flying much the same work as Hola Airlines did last summer. Lets hope everything is formalised with EAAC regarding the contract as Excel had some nightmares last summer with operators (Hola) and lets hope EAAC has a better reliability record.

I wish EAAC well in the future, maybe they could even think of opening up UK regional crew bases!!! :rolleyes:

As a frequent flyer from BOH I can tell you that you rarely see any of their aircraft standing idle at their base. 2 of their 737's are leased to BOH based Palmair. BOH also has a number of 747 flights operated on behalf of Bath Travel. Another 737 flies ski charters to Turin every sunday from BOH. Palmair have stated that they will be using 737-300's this summer leased from EAAC.

Mentioned on another thread, another 737-300 will be operating flights this summer from Newcastle.

To finsh off. Unless they are storing their aircraft elsewhere then they're all busy this winter period. Also the 737-200's are starting to be replaced with 300's for this summer season. Seeing as they've just acquired a further 2 747-200's I think they expect to keep them flying a few more years yet.:ok:

I was not disputing that EAAC have work this winter - I know for a fact that they have.
The point that I was making was, "where do they go from here".

Yes its true that Bath Travel (Palmair) utilise 2 x 732's from BOH plus a number of 742 flights during the year but surely, Bath Travel / Palmair have a major financial stake in EAAC, don't they ?

It is all fine and dandy to advertise the 733 operations from NCL & BOH, but have EAAC, as yet, aquired the a/c. My sources tell me that this is not currently the case. Looking at and evaluating a/c is not the same as purchasing or leasing them, is it.

I really wish EAAC, and its people, all the best for 2004 and may they go from strength to strength.

I have heard a rumour that one of the two 737-3 recently retired by gb airways will be winging it's way to european, don't know where the ret of them are coming from!!!
