I received a newsletter email from the Aviation Employment Info Service website, and still was what it said.

"New Domestic Airline - Melbourne Based.
Projected Commencement 2004.
Ansett evolutionary product developed by Ansett people.

Pacific Southwest Engineering Pty Ltd ACN 103 257 996 Venture Consultants is the principal developer of a new domestic freight and passenger airline in Australia. The new airline plans to operate up to 30 A320 family(A318/A319/A320/A321) aircraft on an expansive network throughout Australia on substantially new and innovative philosphies not currently experienced in Australia. As an airline of proposed optimum fit in the current and proposed market, the airline expects to build signifcant new travel and employment opportunities."

Ask Venture_Executive. That looks suspiciously like his mob. There isn't room in the Australian domestic market for 1 A320 - let alone 30 (or there won't be once QF get theirs) - unless someone's got a lot of money they wanna lose real quickly. The three airline policy. Does it need to be demonstrated again?

Any comments at all Venture_Executive, please!!?? Be interested to know the background to this and where you think the market niche is. Not trying to be smart, just truly interested.

Thanks in anticipation.

At this stage I can tell you that Ansett Limited ACN 107 563 806 will be operating our new airline from Melbourne. This is a new holding company formed on 17 February 2004 . Route analysis is largely complete and financial planning is currently underway. Expressions of interest have been sought from suitably qualified indiviuduals. Because this is a passenger and freight airline targeting a broad spectrum of public needs, it is considerably more difficult to plan than a pure freight operation. JetStar's operations will considerably compliment our services.
