 Greetings,
Can anyone tell me what the SACAA would requie, apart from a medial, to renew a South African ATPL which expired over two years ago? I have not flown over that time and my UK aTPL has also lapsed. I have their web site but prefer to remain anonymous.
Thank you
:suspect:

To my knowledge Part 61 is not in operation yet, so the ANR's still apply: 3.5(2)(d) which essentially means that if your ATP has lapsed for more than two years but not more than five years you'll have to have more than 12 hrs PIC in the last six months, or do a flight test within 60 days of your application; meet the IFR requirements; and pass a "written examination in regulations as prescribed for an Airline Transport License".
Best you contact the SACAA as their interpretation could differ!
Good luck.:D
