Hello.
My name is Faye and I am 14 years of age, 15 in a few days. I have asthma and I need to take my inhaler whenever I do running or alot of swimming. I have been in the ATC since I was 13 and 4 months. I would like to ask you all if you think I will have a chance of getting into the RAF.

Thanks,
Faye

Hi Faye, I wanted to go into the RAF as a pilot about a year ago but after reading the eyesight limits - I changed my plans. I think if you want to become a pilot in the RAF, asthma is not allowed, however any other ground operations such as Air traffic control and loadmaster are ok as long as there has been no serious attacks in the last five years.
Someone correct me if I am wrong, but im sure it is along those lines.
Take a look at www.raf.mod.uk and see if anything is listed on the site.
Good Luck with the application
Dan

Sorry to say, but I got rejected at the medical for the very same reason you metion above.

However that was over ten years ago, so things may have changed, as suggested in the post from Easy226.
