Mike Jenvey,

Almost correct, but you are listing the requirements for a DA Evaluator.

KERDUNKER,

CAP403 does indeed list all the requirements, and specifically Chapter 6, Paragraph 3 for a Display Authorisation.

You must apply for a provisional DA number and application form before you do anything. Speak to the Air Displays man at the CAA on 01293 573510, and he will send you the relevant forms and answer any questions you have.

You'll then need to find a DA Evaluator, fly a sequence for him, and then apply to the CAA. They will relieve you of £120.00 and then send you the DA.

Good Luck! :ok:

Look at CAP403, then call the CAA (Dave Evans on the number above) and have a chat. Dave'll tie up any loose ends - he's a good guy and will give you whatever advice you need.

Then, if you are still serious about a DA and you want specific advice and help on what to do, send me a PM.

Airbedane.

PS: As a guide for others reading the thread, you'll need at least 200 hours for a basic flypast DA in a benign type and an appropriate attitude of mind - the latter is the most important. Beyond that, experience on type will be required, plus a safe sequence and a knowledge of the CAP(403).
