Any info please of schools which offer a 737EFIS initial rating.
I know Simuflite and FlightSafety do but I believe they are pricey.
I am not looking for the cheapest either but one which offers
a professional course for reasonable money.

Check out Continental Airlines Web site. I think they still offer a type rating on the 737EFIS for $ 10.000/12.000.

HPA (higher power aviation) is very popular with people that are getting their type for employment at Southwest. I have no idea whether or not they have the EFIS sims but since they use FSI sims I'm sure they do.

I did the 737 course with HPA in 2001, at that stage they only had -200/-300 sims. They were working on introducing an EFIS course to satisfy the Southwest requirements.

In all my years in aviation, i have never met a more friendly group of people, they went out of their way to assist people achieve their goal.

Suggest you email [email protected] for further information.

I did a 737NG type with PremAir a year ago and while the trainers and sim were OK, I would not go there again. The company has a bad attitude and are more interested in your money.
From what I hear, HPA, K &S Aviation in PHX and almost anyone else would be better. If you are only interested in completing a course and nothing else, then by all means go for it. However, the others are FAR superior including backup support, job placement, couseling etc. Some of them will even give you free frefresher groundschool and allow you to sit in on others. Not PremAir. And keep away from their sister company, Global Aircraft Delivery. Nasty folks.....
If I was asking the same question today, I would go with another operator.
Good luck whichever one you chose
