Now, I'm not one to gloat. I'm not one to point the finger, nor do I have a chip on the shoulder.

As much as it is sad to hear of redundancies, people are having too live with the threat of job losses all their lives, if indeed they have a job in the first instance.

A few of you are very quick to turn on the Guv. He is only pointing out the facts. This is the real world, now, and "airline pilots of flag carriers" are not immune. Indeed some have had it too good for too long. I only hope they have made the most of it. Why? Because nothing lasts forever and that includes, UAL, BA, VS, BMI and any other outfit you can think of.

I remember the days, when everything was so good, some pilots (through the unions) demanded and received salary increases, which were nothing short of obscene. (UA comes to mind here) While at the same time looking down their noses on lower paid individuals as if they were "cheap prostitutes."

Now that times are hard, are these pilots prepared to take a pay cut to help save their jobs, and the positions of others?
