View Full Version : MYT Lite after April?

The timetables on MYT Lite's website shows only a couple of routes - AGP and ALC - operating beyond the end of April.

This is a change from a few weeks back when flights to DUB and BFS were timetabled throughout the summer.

Any ideas what's going on?

I’ve just read in Flight that MYT Lite is to stop flying in its present form and be absorbed back into the charter side and become seat only brand on selected flights?

From what I have heard MyTravelLite is essentially going to be a similar operation to what PPRUNe thought the new airline from Britannia was going to be, essentially not an airline with aircraft or crews, rather a re-working of existing MyTravel Airways aircraft.

MyTravelLite's existing four Airbus 320 aircraft will be going to be repsprayed back into MyTravel Airways colours and all flights will simply be operated as MyTravel Airways with MYT onboard service. However like Britannia Direct, it will simply be an advertising and a website brand "MyTravelLite" to look for the general public like a fully functioning low-cost, no-frills airline.

The temporary problem with the timetable has now been corrected:

It’s amazing that a little technical web difficultly caused such a fuss. The predictions about the end of MyTravelLite as we know it are well off the mark. Whilst some may speculate that it makes sense for the MyTravel charter seat-only product to be branded and sold as MyTravelLite, there’s no suggestion that this would supplant MyTravelLite’s core stand-alone function.

As for MyTravelLite’s aircraft being “resprayed back into MyTravel Airways colours”, well there hasn’t been time to get more than one (G-JOEM (http://www.airliners.net/search/photo.search?distinct_entry=true&regsearch=G-JOEM)) into the full MyTravelLite colours yet! Check out G-BYTH (http://www.airliners.net/search/photo.search?distinct_entry=true&regsearch=G-BYTH), G-SSAS (http://www.airliners.net/search/photo.search?distinct_entry=true&regsearch=G-SSAS) and G-FHAJ (http://www.airliners.net/search/photo.search?distinct_entry=true&regsearch=G-FHAJ).

U/S President, MyTravelLite has two Airbus 320s painted in MyTravelLite colours: G-JOEM and G-BYTH.

Also aircraft G-SSAS and G-FHAJ, whilst still in MyTravel Airways colours and used on some MYT charter flights, I believe mostly carry out flights for MYL and have MYL headcovers.

All that I have been told is that the airline will continue to operate a number of existing business flights such as Dublin and Belfast, but will focus on being simply a brand to attract leisure travellers wanting a flexible and cheap option for their holiday flights to destinations across the MyTravel destination list.

Could it be MAN specific?. The MAN-TFS is already combined with standard MYT flights on a regular basis. Todays 7049 was merged with the 101 on C-FBUS. Considering their position though, its good to see them doing this rather than sending two half empty aircraft to the same place at the same time!

Having said that, as usual, no one working for MYT knows anything about it :ugh:
