Merry Christmas Everyone!

Captain Al Haynes, who was the captain of UA232 which crash landed in Sioux City Iowa on July 19, 1989 needs our help.

He saved many lives that day, a catastrophic accident that was deemed 'unsurvivable' was handled so professionally by Captain Haynes that amazingly 184 survived. It is due to his heroism, professionalism and skill that these people are alive today.

However he now needs help. He recently lost his wife and son, and now his daughter needs a bone marrow transplant in order to save her life. The goal is to reach US$250,000 in order for her to have her transplant (they already have a donor marrow). I implore all FAs and future FAs to assist this family who have already endured much suffering and pain.

You can donate to Captain Haynes' daughter, Laurie Arguello (nee Haynes) by going to http://www.transplants.org/ and making a donation by your credit card. There is more detail on the pilots forum http://www.pprune.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=112991

If you are not aware of this accident and would like to read more, take a look at http://yarchive.net/air/airliners/dc10_sioux_city.html

Thank you and Merry Christmas!
