HI, having recently read the excellent Miles( Reading born and bread like me) and Auster threads I thought I would join and ask for some help from you. Mostly those of you who have wonderful 'spotting' jottings from the 50's and 60's.I have been researching the Farnborough shows since 1948 and have a pretty accurate account of the exhibition aircraft. However I am in real need of notes of the non airshow aircraft and those that visited Blackbushe, and later Odiham.
Its all in aid of my growing website www.farnboroughairport.biz . Anything on Blackbushe in the 50's would be much appreciated, even outside the airshows.
my mail is [email protected]
Oh and a great forum. Nice to see people who appreciate vintage light aircraft rather than those noisey warbirds in other forums!

Think you might find the odd noisy warbird in here as well...!

Piston engines rule...!

Hi

I just had a look at you site. Full marks for trying, but you might wish to do some checking of details. Sorry to nitpick.

I only checked one year 1950 where you had this to say:

New development aircraft were the Avro Ashton, built in case the V-bomber programme failed. [No. That was the Short SA4 Sperrin VX158 that appeared in 1951]

Also the experimental jet powered Viscount powered by Rolls Royce Tynes. [No. The Tyne was a turboprop. You are thinking of the Tay Viscount VX217]
