:( ... 172 crashed in Queenstown late yesterday.....it was from wakatipu aeroclub on a local mountain flying training flight. there was a instructor and student aboard. one dead and one seriously injured.......the crash site was on the north eastern lake face near lake luna, about half way down to the lake.
it's always terrible to hear of a accident like this with experienced people on board, hopefully with a survivor this will not be another mystery case of 'wonder what happened'.
conditions in Q'town yesterday were pretty windy with very strong winds at altitude.......maybe a little strong for mountain training?? who knows??
anybody know who was on board or which person died...instructor or student?
