Can anyone give me informaiton about airlines that use local charter companies to move their crews around Africa? Typically, a crew would be relieved at the end of the line in Nowhereville but would then be transferred to Somewhereville for their 2/3 day stopover, becforce being traferred back to Nowhereville to pick up the incoming flight and take it back to Europe or wherever.

I'd be grateful to hear of any airlines that currently do this and the charter companies that do the transferring, between which cities, etc.

Or does this not happen at all these days?

Any input please. Thanks a lot.

As far as I am aware, Virgin fly from LGW to Port Harcourt (Nigeria), and the crew then fly up to Lagos using ACN. (Aero Contractors Nigeria).
I might be wrong, but I think the main reason that they do this, is due to the lack of a decent hotel in PH. There's only the airport hotel, and it sucks!.
ACN are a very good company to fly with.( They are a scheduled airline, not a charter company) I've used them loads of times. You can even get a beer on board.
