Was in BJL recently, and there was an Il-62 parked up on the ramp, Gambia coloured, but with engines 'plugged' with those red coloured things that keep dust out.

Is it operational? Or is it sat there long term?

And what about the American registered DC-9, with what looked like the Columbian(?) flag subtley marked on the nose?

IL62 is probably 'Gambia New Millenium Air' the airline apparently run by Pres. Jammahs' brother or some similar connection. Aircraft hardly ever flies except on flights for Jammah.

DC9 belongs to Freedom Air from Nigeria (was purchased from a Colombian airline) along with the B727-200 both parked up for some months.

Both aircraft have a 'layer' of dust/sand on them now!! The DC-9 looks sicker than the Il-62 though..

Have they both booked places in the great hangar in the sky? Or is there hope, seeing they haven't made the step to the parking lot by the 32 threshold...
