SkyTeam alliance member CSA Czech Airlines is considering launching a budget subsidiary with separate branding from its parent.
Air Transport World Online reports the new airline will be based around Czech charter carrier Travel Service, which CSA intends to acquire.
In a statement CSA said that a plan for a ‘full takeover of Travel Service is being worked on’ and will be presented to the airline’s supervisory board later this week. ‘The entire process may be finalised soon,’ it added.
CSA is being advised on the process by consultants KPMG and Baker & McKinsey.
