Interesting punctuality data for January to August 2003 showing 30 Key Scheduled Routes from London Airports reveals Ryanair as one of the most punctual carriers operating to and from the UK.
Ryanair operates on 11 of the key routes, and they are the most punctual carrier on 8 of them, namely:
London to Dublin
London to Glasgow
London to Frankfurt
London to Barcelona
London to Milan
London to Rome
London to Brussels
London to Berlin
easyJet operate on 19 of the key routes and are the most punctual carrier on… none of them. They are however the least punctual carrier on 18 of the 19 routes (saved from complete embarrassment only on the London to Rome route where national carrier Alitalia manages a worse performance).
Other interesting facts:
Monarch Scheduled (ZB) are the most punctual scheduled carrier on all routes they operate in the category, namely to Alicante and Malaga, with on-time performance more than 10% higher than their nearest scheduled competitor on both routes.
On the 9 routes where both bmi and BA compete, bmi have better punctuality on 6 of them.
The best punctuality of any carrier on a single route is VLM Airlines between London City and Manchester, achieving 93% on-time performance.
The worst punctuality of any carrier on a key route is Air India between London Heathrow and New York, where the average flight is delayed over 65 minutes!
