LunchMonitor,

My guess is netfirms.com and freewebs.com will not let you link a picture. It is in their Webserver software to block it. Without going to either of the sites, I am going to guess they are free and have ads built into every page anyone creates on their servers. If they want to make money on the ads they have on their site people have to open pages that are actually hosted on their server, so they block all remote access to pix, etc.

Take Care,

Richard

Hmm...they worked for me as well. But only after I'd visited the actual websites to see what the pictures were, and then came back here...and there they were. I've noticed this with other pictures as well.

But now they've gone again.

...and now all working OK here although the second and third didn't work the first time around. I even tried disabling ZoneAlarm and it didn't help.

But now from another PC, the second and third don't work. :*

It's obviously dependent upon the individual settings on the PC. Too late ot sort it out now; time to go and watch the programme on TV about Bill Gates and Stephen Jobs.

fobotcso,

What you think of The Pirates of Silicon Valley?

The pictures will work after you have visited the site itself as they will then be in your cache of temporary internet files and will load from there until you shut down your browser or refresh the page (depending on whether your browser is set to load from cache or not.)

I think Richard is probably right in the idea that the server will not allow remote access to the pics.

Must try some other free sites or God forbid pay for some webspace.

I'd agree with Lunch.

I wonder what the image tags of the pictures are. Perhaps instead of pointing to the location on the website's server, they point to a local address, which would be your cache storage and would onlyh contain the images if you had been to the site already.

Course, I'm a mainframe guy though.

What tags are you using?
