BA announced on the 25th of November that they are to fly 3 times aweek from LGW to ALG (ALGIERS).

The flights will operate Monday, Wednesday and Friday, with B- 737 aircraft.

This comes on top of the recently announced route expansion from LGW, namely new routes to Dubrovnik, Turin, Bari, Catania and Cagliari.

BA is expected to announce further route expansions from both LGW and LHR over the coming weeks.

Slightly, off the subject..sort of.

But can anybody tell me what flights to ALG are like, i.e. is it a very strict country as in no alcohol taken in, is the duty free worth a visit etc etc..

A girl has to have some perks..:O

Alcohol consumption in moderation is acceptable. Algeria has a number of fairly good wines, which will be served in international hotel restaurants etc.
Restaurant 'El Djenina', Ave Franklin Roosvelt (sic) is good.
Can't imagine there is any good duty free.
