VH- RAS. For those people who have flown it no explanation required. Word has it that is up for sale. A few of us were wondering how many pilots have had the pleasure of flying her over the years and who holds the record for the number of hours on her?
current T.T is 19,495,6 hours

I assume you mean 19,495.6 hours. If that is the case then this is a lot of hours for a C207. Two of the highest time piston aircraft I have flown were a BN2-260 in PNG with 24,000 hours and a C404 with 22,000 hours in Aus.

I've flown ol' RAS. Dunno how many hours I got in it. I know there's plenty more guys out there with a lot more hours on it than me. :D

258.4 hours on RAS and have to say that wasnt the worst one they had...DMS was the least pleasurable to fly. 300.4 hours in WOT. There would be quite a few with many more hours on em than I have.....Pongo?

I flew RAS in 81/82 out of Wittenoom W.A., for Fortescue Air Charter. Haven`t added it up exactly but probably have about 500 hours over those two years.

Never let us down, but did scare us a few times when engine coughed in flight as junk went through the fuel filter.

The aircraft then was mostly used for scenic flights around the Hammersly Ranges and our only "airline" service Wittenoom-Paraburdoo-Wittenoom.

It would be interesting to know all the companies it has served and places it has been based over the years.

Where is the aircraft these days?

Gotta agree RAS wasnt the worst.. WOT and DMS were competing for the dog award when I left

RAS went to Alligator Airways in mid 80's and was the companies for 207 from what Ive been told...

And pongo or hos would have to be the record holders for th number of RAS hours! :p

I've had the pleasure of flying VH-RAS briefly in the past. However these days the majority of my work is in sophisticated and complexed twin engined aircraft. All this too look foreward to........one day!
Isn't that RIGHT drshlong!:{ :{

Yeah BJM, all those long hours practising those rear end arrivals with the boss has really paid off for you. Enjoy those Part Bananas, cause you deserve it. Enjoy that week off in YPAD where you can practice those rear end arrivals all you want under the cover of darkness at the BLUE OYSTER BAR. While your there you can complete your PHD in grabbing your ankles
