View Full Version : Air Berlin takes on Easyjet - sort of (new STN-PMI service)

Air Berlin is to start a daily Stansted - Palma service on Dec 19. Daily departure STN 1015 - arrival PMI 1330

The flight is fully integrated into Air Berlin's Palma Shuttle hub operation at PMI, which means that cheap one-stop flights through PMI to Barcelona, Madrid, Alicante, Valencia, Almeria, Malaga, Sevilla, Jerez, Faro and Ibiza are available as well.

Flights to PMI start at 19GBP/29 EUR one-way all incl. - which is not only inclusive tax, but also inclusive non-alcoholic drinks, snacks, newspapers, IFE, seat allocation and frequent flyer miles.

One-stop flights to the other Spanish destinations start at 35/49 EUR all incl.

The German press quotes Air Berlin's CEO J. Hunold saying: "As Easyjet is so kind to visit us with a new base on our home turf, we have decided to offer flights from STN to Spain.

As a another reaction to Easyjet's arrival in Berlin, Air Berlin will also bring forward the launch of its daily TXL-BCN service to January.

Seems to be a good example of competition benefitting consumer choice.

Can anyone persuade them to compete a bit more up here in Scotland please!?
