"Flybe Heathrow offer

During question time in the States it emerged that Flybe has approached the Transport Board, offering to sell it three pairs of Guernsey - Heathrow slots at a total cost of £18 million. Transport President, Deputy Mike Torode said air slots can only be held by airlines, so the Board wouldn't be able to buy them anyway. "

Questions:

Where did FlyBe get them from?

Why don't they operate them to JCI GCI?

They have had them for years. LHR/TLS & LYS. Wont run them on CI routes as they will dilute their LGW/SOU/BHX traffic, which already has competition from Aurigny to LGW & STN. Same reason they didnt operate GCI/LCY. Most prob find Air France are tired of Flybe lo-cost image not fitting in with their profile and are looking to pull the code share. Also a good way of reducing their black hole of debt.

My view on the matter.
:hmm:

States of Guernsey would be far better and wiser spending the money on a runway extention which will be needed V soon just to attract airlines in. There is intrest from carriers with real jet aircraft.

Agree about the Runway extension. Build great new terminal suitable for larger aircraft leave runway same length like that makes sense! Runway extension is urgent as far as I can see.
