Just arrived at Manchester AV8`s 1st B757 callsign appears to be
Pennine and aircraft is in full colours of a large 8 on tail and fusalage in orange( bit vague but only gleaned as it flew past my window at home )

I don`t know about pax load but flight was operated by TF-FIA of Icelandair/YES whilst the B757 went out crew training to BOH this morning and is due back this evening

Can anyone confirm that currently, the B767 is operating under Icelandair's AOC, whilst the B757 is operating under AV8Air's AOC

The 757 which came into MAN yesterday (G-OAVB) was using callsign "Pennine" and 3-letter ID "MNF" wheras the Icelandair 763 in Yes colours (TF-FIA) which came in before it and operated the CPT service last night has been operating as ICExxxx throughout.

This would suggest the 757 is on the Av8Air AOC whilst the 763 is not... or maybe it doesn't tell us anything - don't really know enough about these things!

According to CAA site, av8air has no operating licence, as of today !

How do you know the CAA website listing is "as of today"? There appears to be no note on that page suggesting such.

I admit to not knowing much about the regs in this sense, but it seems to me that crews are flying around in a G- registered aircraft, with their own 3-letter ICAO code and Callsign, and I don't see how this is possible without an AOC.

The are probably training crews, meaning AOC has not yet been issued.

The information on CAA's site is usually up to date. If in doubt, look at the Offical Record Series. http://www.caa.co.uk/docs/213/1619.pdf

These are normally issued weekly and as of this week (25 Nov 2003), no mention of any operating licence for av8air, mannair or Hcct or whatever else they call themselves. :rolleyes:

don't think the pennine callsign will last for very long given that pennine radar got there first a long time ago!
