New Carriers CV(F) - STOVL vs. CTOL

I'm researching an essay and would appreciate links to information, and comment on the decision regarding the configuration of the UKs new CV(F) carriers.

I'd particularly like to answer the following questions:

-- What political/historical/financial reasons are there for choosing VSTOL vs. CTOL?
-- What military/capability reasons are there?
-- What will the UK eventually build and use?
-- Having committed to the VSTOL version of the JSF, will the tail be wagging the dog in terms of CV(F) design?
