Facial moles below eyes

I've developed (or just noticed) a tiny mole-like growth below my right eye. It does not itch or hurt and is the same color as the surrounding skin. I've seen this on other people and one I know seems to have had them removed.
I have spent a lot of time in sunny climes and wondered if this is some sort of sun-induced skin problem, hopefully not cancerous.
I'm in my early forties.
Any ideas?

The diagnoses in dermatology get made by looking at things and if you can't do it that way by taking a biopsy.

So go and see your doctor!
