G'Day
Thought I would start a thread on how many pilots presently are out there and looking for work, regardless of how many hours?
What are you doing in the meantime?

Cheers

I've given up and am going to go to Europe. Hopefully I will be able to return one day to a realistic environment. To much back scratching and arse tapping here.

Just shy of 1000 and finishing those dreaded atpl's. Gonna hit the road after christmas to find something outside of instructing, need some stick time.

Over two thousand hours approx 800 piston multi. I am with a good operator right now and I have informed them that while I am looking for greener pastures I will not be making a sideways step to another piston charter mob.

My point is that I am paid well for what I do, (relatively speaking) and accordingly I can afford my employer the loyalty that good pay and conditions command, albeit not forever.

I am hopefull that the industry will, to some extent, turnaround shortly. Just remember that when the chief pilot retires at QF another 206 charter job turns up somewhere.

Continental - an operator in the big smoke out West ?

Well, the short answer is no, but that's largely due to ineligibilty experience wise...unless you can tell me otherwise...in which case the answer may be different.

Laid off in Europe, 6000h TT, 5600h Jet, 2000h Command 737 EFIS - would love to do a little Southern Hemisphere work, but finding contracts a little thin on the ground at present !
Good luck all.
