QANTAS Flight Number callsigns

On the way into Perth the other day I heard the QANTAS A330's using flight number callsigns rather than the usual rego.

Is QF experimenting with these and are they likely to be used throughout the fleet.

Yes, they'll soon be using them for all flights.

From about end of January if I remember correctly. Dunno why it is OK now and hasn't been for the last decade or so! :D
